About The Fabricator's Industry Award
The Fabricator's prestigious Industry Award is given to a company or individual in the metal forming and fabricating industry that has successfully improved operations, attained business growth, and contributed to both the local and industrial communities.

Applicants must fill out each category. Wherever possible, please provide quantitative evidence. (Suggested topics to address in your response are noted for each section.) Proprietary quantitative evidence will be kept confidential and only be used in the judging process.
Selection Process
The winner will be selected by an awards committee consisting of staff and members of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association.
Winner
The winning company will appear on the cover of the market-leading publication The Fabricator and be featured in a story in the same issue. One company representative will receive complimentary registration, travel, and hotel accommodations to accept the award at FMA's Annual Meeting. If desired, the representative may bring a personal guest who will receive complimentary admittance to the conference receptions.
Operations (40 points)
Shop Floor Improvements
Examples include but are not limited to improvements in: quality control standards; implementation of lean activities, techniques, and practices; uptime improvements; inventory reduction; reduction of scrap; minimization of material handling; elimination of non-value-added activity
Safety
OSHA 300A form; introduction of ergonomic guidelines; safety team/committee initiatives; decrease in lost time due to injury
Training
Cross training, certification, skills training provided to employees; opportunities for leadership development
Marketplace (40 points)
Business Success
Expanding into new geographic markets; diversifying into new market segments; cultivating international business; developing cooperative agreements with other job shops to win contracts; improving profit margins
Customer Satisfaction
JIT delivery; cultivating customer relationships; customer satisfaction index; increase in accepted orders
New Products/Services
Patents; value-added engineering services
Community (20 points)
Support of Manufacturing as Future Career Choice
Speaking at schools and other events in support of the industry; membership in industry associations; offering of internships or apprenticeships; hosting manufacturing camps for youths; hosting company tours; partnerships with educational institutions
