Breakout Session A: Automated Coil Equipment

This presentation will cover automatic coil debanding, automated threading, automatic separator tooling, robotic setup of the slitter head, robotic inspection of slitter tooling, robotic washing of slitter tooling, and automatic coil OD banding.
10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.

Breakout Session A: Slitting Thin and Surface Critical Materials

The discussion will incorporate best practices for better results; tension control techniques and options; different tension units for non-marking of the material while still producing tight straight coils; threading, loop pit doublers to gain pit depth without digging deeper, recoiling options and different ways to improve your current line. This will be an open discussion and all questions are welcome.
10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.

Breakout Session A: Theory of Roller Leveling

This presentation breaks down the core concepts of roller leveling. We reveal the connection between shape defects and residual stresses and demonstrate how roller levelers work to correct these using progressive reverse bending and targeted correction utilizing roll bending. Topics include review of the physics behind yield strength and strain, calculating work and plastification, comparing different leveler types and their advantages and disadvantages, and exploring new technologies.
10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.

Breakout Session B: Advanced Features of Modern Processing Equipment

This presentation will highlight various advancements in modern coil processing lines including slitting line equipment advancements, slitting line automation, tooling changeover automation, robotic slitter tooling setups, separator changeover automation, offline strapping of slit mults, and online service and support.
11:00 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.

Breakout Session B: Design, Construction, and Economics of Foundations for Processing Equipment

Increase your understanding of how coil processing equipment foundations are designed and constructed. The speaker, a leader in specialty concrete foundations, will discuss what to expect during this process, the unique challenges and considerations owners face, and how to avoid the most common pitfalls. If you're considering new equipment and plant modifications now or in the future, you won’t want to miss this presentation.

Lunch
12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Breakout Session C: Identifying and Eliminating Bottlenecks in Slitting Operations

Every slitting line is only as efficient as its slowest process. Bottlenecks, whether caused by outdated equipment, inconsistent operator practices, or coil staging, create hidden costs in lost production time, labor, and overall throughput.

This discussion highlights key operational pain points that limit efficiency in coil slitting, from operator dependency and manual tooling setups to packaging and discharge delays. By standardizing practices, modernizing equipment, and improving material flow, operations can reduce downtime and unlock the line’s full potential.

12:45 p.m. - 1:35 p.m.

Breakout Session C: Producing Flat Material That Stays Flat - Taking the Guesswork Out of the Leveling Process

Learn how stretcher leveling compares to other types of leveling, i.e., roller leveling, temper passing; learn how and why stretching eliminates trapped internal stresses that cause spring back; learn proper techniques and helpful hints for operating stretchers and discover how to achieve optimum production when using a stretcher.
12:45 p.m. - 1:35 p.m.

Breakout Session C: The Secret to Producing Repeatable High Cut Quality While Meeting Today’s Processing Demands

Understand what it takes to produce proper setups, produce repeatable cut quality, improve slitter setup times, explore loose rubber rings vs. bonded stripper rings, and advancements with automation in the slitter setup area.
12:45 p.m. - 1:35 p.m.
